Special Member’s Meeting On October 6, 2007 a special member’s meeting will
be held at the clubhouse starting at 10:00 A.M. to discus the current “State of
the Club” and other relevant issues. All members are encouraged to attend this
important meeting. Additional information is contained in the enclosed letter
from President, Herb Koch and Treasurer, Bob Ciolino.
2007 LCCA Convention The annual Lionel Collector’s Club of America (LCCA) convention was
held in Rosemont, Illinois from July 22nd thru July 29th.
The CLRC Modular Layout was the hit of the show. Many club members attended the
convention and assisted in setting-up and tearing down the layout. A big thanks
goes to all the members who helped to make our presence at the convention a
success.
Club Picnic On
September 22, 2007 sixty one (61) people, Club
members with their families and guests, attended the first picnic held at the
new clubhouse. Burgers, brats, hotdogs and numerous sides and desserts were
enjoyed by all. The weather cooperated by providing sunshine and pleasant
temperatures. Trains ran all day and members got a chance to chat with other
members and catch up on railroad and other news. A special member in attendance
was Club Founder, Jerry Brettschneider. Looking forward to seeing you all again
next year at the second annual clubhouse picnic.
Small Club Layout The
small 4 X 8 foot Club layout is being completely redone and expanded. The new
version will be larger, 5 X 16 feet, and will feature Lionel’s new FasTrack.
Members are hard at work completing the new layout configuration. The layout
will be the featured exhibit at the World’s Greatest Hobby on Tour show in
Schaumburg at the Marriott Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel 1551
N. Thoreau Drive on November 24th and 25th and at the
LCCA Show at Naperville Central High School 440 Aurora Avenue on December 1st.

Lionel Trains Display Angela and
Gary Reed are working on a display of Lionel equipment that will be featured
during the month of November at the Frankfort Public Library. Pre-war, post-war
and modern Lionel equipment will be on display along with other Lionel
memorabilia. Stop in and see how toy trains have changed through the years. The
library is located at 21119 S. Pfeiffer Road
(Pfeiffer Road and Route 30). A thank you goes to the members who have kindly
loaned their equipment for the display.
Regularly Scheduled Run Meets for 2007 Run meets are scheduled for every Saturday throughout
the year. The third Saturday of January through April and September though
December are also designated as Open House dates for attendance by the general
public. Additional Sunday run dates are scheduled. The complete run schedule is
available at the Club web site.
CLUB CARS
– The new “City of New Orleans” and “Rock Island Rocket”
club cars have been received from Lionel. If you have ordered one, you should
be receiving it shortly. If you haven’t ordered one, now is the perfect time to
do so and have the car in time for the holidays. Use the handy order form(s)
included and available at the club website to order club cars. All club cars
ordered using the website order form(s) will be shipped directly to the
purchaser and are subject to shipping charges. When you buy our CLRC cars, you
get a GREAT car and the profits are used to support the club.
