CLRC PURCHASES THEIR PERMANENT HOME!
After years of searching
and months of preparation, the CLRC board, comprised of officers and directors,
elected to purchase a site for the permanent home of the club. It's located on
Schoolhouse Road near Route 30 in New Lenox, Illinois. It will allow for office
and meeting space, a huge permanent layout, storage, and for the loading and
unloading of the trailer without being subject to the weather.
What is needed immediately
is the help of the membership. If you have any expertise in carpentry,
plumbing, or electricity contact Herb Koch or Bob Ciolino (815) 469-9249 to
find out how you can help. Anyone
interested in helping build the permanent layout, regardless of expertise or
previous experience will be asked at a later date to volunteer. Look for the
call to be published in this newsletter or the Prairie State Express.

Wal-Camp run will take place on October 2 & 3 Al Laseke will be

There will only be one Boy
Scout Merit Badge Jamboree in 2004.It will be held on October 16 and 17, in
Berrien Springs, MI. This is a good opportunity for members in Michigan to run
their trains on the club layout and to meet members from the Chicago area.

2004 ELECTIONS It's that time again. The offices of Vice-president,
Secretary, and two Directors-at-Large are up for election. If you are
interested in running for any one of these positions please submit your name to
either Herb Koch or Bob Ciolino before October 15, 2004. You will need a brief
candidate's statement to be submitted for publication later before the fall
election meeting.
The CLRC will have another
run this year at the Ace Hardware in Chicago on December 4 & 5. More
details will be published later, but this is an excellent opportunity for
members from Chicago and the north and neat northwest areas to run their trains
and interact with the public.
The 2004 Proksa Park
Christmas Celebration will take place on December 10 & 11. More details
will come later. However if there is anyone who is interested in chairing the
CLRC holiday celebration or who is interested in being on the committee, please
call Charlie Cereghino at (847) 438-2931.
There have been two run-meets
at the new building, and understandably not everyone knew of them. We haven't
had a mailing recently and things happened very fast toward the end of the
purchasing process. This is a good reason why you should check the Timetable on
the club's web site at www.clrctrains. com . We have this brand new building
and as you can see from the picture below, we need to fill it.
It all starts with the
members - both longstanding and those who have joined more recently. Help the
club and get involved in the many new and exciting things that will be
happening in the months to come.
Finally, don't forget to
order your new club cars. Use the order form in the latest PSE issue.
