YOUR CALENDAR for the Second
Annual CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE at the CLRC clubhouse located at 1311 S.
Schoolhouse Rd., New Lenox, IL to be held on Saturday, December 16, 2006. The
Open House hours are 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. During this time the general public is
invited to attend. Admission for regular members and their family is free as is
a photo of Santa with a child. For non-members there will be a usual charge for
admission and the photo. The annual Christmas party will take place from 5 P.M.
to ? and is set aside for members only. If you would like to participate
with pizza and soda the cost is $5.00 and bring a dessert with 10 servings to
share. This has always been a
special event for the kids. Members are encouraged to bring their children,
grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Of course, you can bring your trains to run
on the layout. We also would like to encourage new members to help with
the running of the layout during the open house hours. This has always been a
time to renew old friendships, form some new ones, and to spend some time with
those who enjoy toy trains.
OTHER
CLUB NEWS
THE
ELECTION MEETING will also take
place on December 16. Regular members who have not voted by mail may vote in
person from 5:30 to 7 P.M. Election results will be announced at about 7:30.
Please give your ballot to Herb Koch before 7 o'clock.
The
next CLRC Board meeting will be
held January 5, 2007 at the CLRC clubhouse.
MEMBERSHIP
RENEWALS - Remember your current
membership expires in February 2007. This year's renewal is still $40. Look for
renewal forms to be included with the next Newsletter.
CLUB
CARS – Now is a good time
to treat yourself to a special holiday present by ordering those club cars that
you've had your eye on for some time. Use the handy order form on the back of
this newsletter. As a special incentive, anyone who orders with this form and
who will pick up the car(s) at the club house at the December 16 Christmas/Open
House/Election Meeting will have all shipping charges waived for the entire
order.
TMCC2 Head Engineer for Lionel's TMCC2 and CLRC member, Lou
Kovach, has confirmed that he will participate in a demonstration of the new
technology. The tentative dates are February 24 and 25, 2007 for CLRC members
and members of other clubs. We are still hoping the Lionel and Neil Young will
participate, however they have not confirmed as of now. More details will
follow in this newsletter and on the club website. Keep these dates open
