NOVEMBER, 2005 NEWSLETTER

The CLRC Clubhouse officially opened on October 29, 2005. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended  by the officers and board members and regular members. Special guests included the club founder, Jerry Brettschnieder, Lou and Colleen Kovach, and Brenda Mainwaring a representative from the Union Pacific Railroad. Later Neil Basougloff of Classic Toy Trains joined in the festivities.

Some of the regular members who attended were: Herb Koch with his wife, Debbie, and her mother, Rich Thayer with his daughter and grandchild, Bob Ciolino, Lyle Eimen, Kevin Barry, John Flinn, John Balone, Swav Kojro, Charlie Cereghino, Robert Stashak, Ed Carter, Norbert Olaska, Al Laseke, Irwin and Nathan Bross, Daniel O'Neill, Gary Statkus, Ted Cwik and his son, Pete Conrad, Kurt Warning, Lou  and Colleen Kovach, the Stratton Family (Kathy, Lauren, Heather, and Kevin, Jr.), Jeff and Dave Mills, Jerry Brettschneider, Tim Romano, Bob Gleason, Jim Mc Pherson, Richard Klouzer and his wife Lorraine, and William Schroeter.  (Apologies to anyone whom I may have omitted. – Ed.)

The clubhouse was open to the general public for a time. There was a lot of interest in the club and our club cars. New members were signed up by Rich Thayer at the membership desk.

All of this could not have happened without the work, imagination, and time of a number of individuals over a period of years. For now, we would like to thank those who put that extra effort to get the clubhouse ready for the open house. In addition we would like to thank those who kept things going throughout the day. At some later time we would like to thank them by name.

THE ELECTION MEETING  will be held on November 18, 2005. Members who have not mailed their ballot may vote at the meeting between 7 & 8:30 P.M. Trains will run at this meeting, so come early! The layout is up and ready for your trains.

FUTURE RUN-MEETS  It is the intention to run trains every Saturday. Check the timetable on the club website or ask a board member about a specific date.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY  Plans should be finalized for the party soon. Look for details in the next newsletter and on the club web site.
