The Chicagoland Lionel Railroad Club presents the Western Pacific / Union Pacific Heritage Boxcar. We have been associated with the Union Pacific and were one of the first clubs approved to use their logo. Union Pacific’s Director Corporate Relations shared in the Grand Opening of our 3600ft², 15’ high Train House, October 29, 2005. As a railroading partner it is our honor to support their Heritage Line with this Western Pacific Box Car. We have coordinated with Lionel to build this car using the same colors and design as their Western Pacific SD70ACe Heritage Diesel Locomotive coming out the end of 2007.
The car is Lionel’s modern 50’ O-Gauge Box Car, with Die Cast Metal Sprung Trucks, that will enjoy being tucked away nicely in a consist on your railroad or trailing behind the Western Pacific Heritage Diesel. Notice the orange chevron pattern on the end which is true to the WP Heritage design. The Green end flows onto the Western Pacific Orange Feather that separates the trailing Gray background as on the SD70ACe diesel. Lionel is using the same paint colors for this car as on their SD70ACe diesel.
